Cheron Ann “Buffy” Draper was born on April 19, 1974 to Maggie Draper and Willie Haynes of Sardis, MS. She confessed her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at Morris Chapel M. B. Church in Sardis, MS.
“Buffy”, as Cheron was affectionately called, was very hard-working and dedicated to furthering her education and career. She received her Bachelor of Social Work Degree from The University of Mississippi on August 1, 2009. After graduation, Buffy worked as a Child Care Social Worker for Pontotoc Department of Human Services from 2010-2014. She received a promotion that allowed her to move on the Coast to Pass Christian, MS where she obtained a position as the Social Worker District Supervisor in that area. Buffy went on to complete her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of North Dakota on May 17, 2014.
Unfortunately, Buffy became ill and she had to leave that position. When she returned to work, she did so at Humana Insurance Company and she worked there until her health failed. She departed this life to be with the Lord on Christmas Day 2016. Buffy was an opinionated, educated, and devoted mother, daughter, sister, and friend.
Proceeding her in death were her grandmothers: Jennie Ann Draper and Alice Haynes; her grandfathers: John Henry Draper and Frank Haynes; her sister, Sharon Walls; and a special niece, Mariah Rowland.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her mother, Maggie (David) Smith of Marshall County, MS; her father, Willie (Annette) Haynes of Sardis, MS; 4 children: Shawntez, Warren, and Malayah Draper and Kenshawn Harden of Pass Christian, MS; her siblings: Katina Draper of Marshall County, MS; Audra (Tracy) Cooper of Tate County, MS; Stevie and Tiffany Draper of Marshall County, MS; Anthony (Debra) Perry of Pass Christian, MS, Keith (Angela) Perry of Oxford, MS, Martha Henderson (Frederick Owens) of Memphis, TN, Gary (Shonda) Walls of Sardis, MS, Erica Walls (Ethan Davis) of Memphis, TN, Jomorrious (Bre) Walls of Sardis, MS, and Ronda Walls (Kenzy Carlton) of Sardis, MS; and 4 grandchildren.
